Fort Bridger

This weekend the family and I packed up our gear and traveled to Fort Bridger. I was scheduled to give a talk on music and instruments of the mountain man era. It was a very comfortable and relaxing camp with a lot of music, feasting and friends. It was good to meet mountaineers I have never met and to see old compadres. I hope our trails will cross again in the future.

  2. Hey Matt,
It was great to meet and talk with you at Bridger. Your music was also fantastic. Not many people play so many instruments so well! I've got a banjo playing brother back in VA and he's also very in to the history of the music, and he has a Civil War era banjo. That song Shenandoah always gets me as I have land that I have a connection to along the Shenandoah River in Virginia, and am always torn between living there and here in the Rockies. I hope to share a camp with you at some point. I'll send you an email soon. Heading out for WY elk in the morning.
